Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Shot Room / Desk
Location : Patchogue, NY
Hours / Days : 4 / 10 hours shifts between the hours of 8am-6pm

In This Role, You Will :
- Update and maintain the electronic medical record with up to date vital signs, patient demographics, medication reconciliation, allergies and medical diagnoses
- Manage Physician inbox messages and prioritize tasks assigned via the electronic medical record
- Assist with patient intake, vital signs, and documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Administer intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections as ordered by the provider.
- Maintain shot room inventory, monitor medication expiration dates, and ensure proper storage of vaccines and biologics.
- Prepare, verify, and document medications in accordance with facility policy and oncology safety standards.
- Reinforce patient education on medication schedules, side effects, and self-care following injections or immunizations.
- Collaborate with RNs, and oncologists to ensure timely and accurate medication administration.
- Monitor patients for immediate reactions or side effects following injections or other treatments; report changes promptly to the supervising RN or provider.
- Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens
- Perform point of care lab testing
- Perform EKGs
- Assist with patient care coordination.
- Administer and document medication under a physician's order and follows the five (5) medication rights and reduce the potential for medical error
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and continuing education.
- Uphold HIPAA and confidentiality standards at all times.
We Require :
Current NYS LPN license required.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.Consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals.Experience with EMR'sReliable transportation to any of NYCBS location for patient care needsWhat We Offer :
