Job Title : Occupational Health Nurse III
Location : 1 Riverfront Plaza, Corning, NY 14831
Work Arrangement : 100% Onsite across multiple valley locations (Corning, Addison, Painted Post)
Schedule : Day Shift, Monday–Friday, with occasional off-shift hours
Hours : 5–20 hours per week
Role Purpose
The Occupational Health Nurse III is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing assessments, treatments, and recommendations for Corning employees related to workplace illness and injury. This position provides direct clinical care, supports medical emergency response programs, and ensures all documentation meets regulatory and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care & Assessment
- Conduct nursing assessments, including taking vital signs and evaluating illnesses or injuries within RN scope of practice.
- Formulate treatment plans, provide patient education, and perform medical interventions as appropriate.
- Document all findings, assessments, and treatments in accordance with OSHA or equivalent national standards.
Case Management & Employee Health
Support Corning's Medical Emergency Response Program.Manage disability cases and collaborate with insurance carriers, Corning Benefits, Workers' Compensation, Safety teams, and company physicians.Utilize Corning's PIIM (Post Injury & Illness Management) program to support early and safe return-to-work planning with medically appropriate work accommodations.Assist with tracking and managing FMLA requests according to company policies and legal requirements.Regulatory Compliance & Surveillance
Conduct regulatory-required surveillance exams as defined by OSHA or applicable national standards.Maintain medical records, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and adherence to privacy laws.Health & Safety Program Participation
Support site health initiatives, including smoking cessation, fitness, blood drives, flu clinics, and other corporate wellness programs.Participate in pandemic preparedness and response planning.Interact externally with occupational medical providers as needed.Maintain and manage site medical inventory.Required Qualifications
Active and current RN license (state of NY).Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).Minimum of 5+ years of Registered Nurse experience ; Occupational Health experience preferred.Current CPR certification.Strong communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal).Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).Preferred Qualifications
Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN or COHN-S).Experience in Emergency Room, ICU, or Med / Surg settings.Previous experience in a manufacturing or corporate health environment.Ability to creatively promote health and safety initiatives.
