Summary

The Field Service Specialist is responsible for the service and troubleshooting of SMS Technical Services equipment. If you are looking to take your mechanical knowledge and understanding of machinery basics, hydraulic and pneumatic systems to the next level, then this is the role for you. Road warriors welcome as there is extensive travel required for this role!

What you'll do

• Perform inspections and repairs as well as provide installation support of new or revamped equipment.
• Assist in developing proposals and offers for mechanical upgrades and repairs along with implementation of tailored predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
• Ensure pre-inspections of equipment to assess the potential scope of repair.
• Review detailed inspection records and data to define the precise scope of repair.
• Determine the order in which the equipment is to be repaired.
• Monitor, review and report on equipment performance and make recommendations for improvements.
• Manage all the inventory required for the repair of equipment
• Review work practices and procedures to ensure quality and productivity
• Review cost of repairs
• Ensure all activities comply to the plants quality procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
