This position is for a Test and Evaluation (T&E) Combat Systems (C2) & Sensors Systems Engineer that will be part of the RMS Global Sustainment (GS) organization serving as part of the on-site Test Team in Marinette, WI.
This team primarily supports the LCS Freedom Class, MMSC and FFG 62 programs but also serves as part of the broader RMS Waterfront Enterprise Team (that supports a range of Combat System Integration, Test and Support efforts on various programs and ship classes in other geographical locations).
This position will report to the on-site GS test team manager and be responsible for supporting planning, installation, and test support activities for mission / combat systems.
Specific responsibilities assigned may include but are not limited to : assisting in the development, planning and execution of the Total Ship Computing Environment for LCS / MMSC and FFG 62 test programs;
Assist in the development & implementation of the weapons-sensor systems and C2
interface test strategy & schedule, integrated with the ship production, , cable, navigation, Total Ship’s Computing Environment (TSCE) and Exterior Communications (EXCOMMS) test schedules.
providing general waterfront support activities as requested by the Program Management Organization (PMO); and support other Waterfront Enterprise Integration and Test efforts on an as-required basis (including occasional travel).
These duties will routinely require collaboration with other internal groups including PMO staff, the production support team, the engineering organization, and the Combatant Ships Integration & Test (CSI&T) organization as well as external groups including SUPSHIP, FMM, NAVSEA and other government agencies and contractors.
Desired skills
1. Knowledge of Combat systems including C2, TSCE, Local Area Networks, IBM Blade Center computing
Platforms, and CISCO Switch platforms..
2. Knowledge of Cisco Call Manager and VoIP router platforms, Windows and Linux system administration.
3. Ability to coordinate production, vendors, and outside agencies for required installation, light-off, test, and support of major milestones.
4. Ability to research design and implementation issues, read and translates drawings, and communicates implementation approaches and deficiencies.
5. Ability to perform analysis and studies in depth, make professional presentations, and keep up with technical advancements in above areas.
