This role has the responsibility to coach, mentor, and supervise the maintenance team to ensure development and safe execution of maintenance plans. This position must perform at a strategic level with sound decision making while focusing on production maintenance support, safety and site overall performance. Directly responsible for the operation of the Maintenance Department in organizing, planning, directing, and controlling department functions involving personnel, production, costs, environmental, and safety.

A Day in the Life

• Provides leadership and direction for the execution of Maintenance, Ensure compliance with all Company, local, state and federal requirements.
• Ensures all work is performed to GoalZero expectations and in adherence with all procedures.
• Responsible for defining and achieving maintenance strategies / goals.
• Responsible for the administration, supervision and operation of the Bedford Maintenance Department
• Develops and adheres to an annual Maintenance budget for the area
• In collaboration with the Associate Engineer, executes at the Site level all phases of capital projects
• Develops and implements the construction and maintenance standards.
• Develops, implements and measures maintenance plans to improve the effectiveness of the preventative and predictive maintenance activities in order to increase plant reliability
• Selects, installs, maintains, modifies and modernizes machinery and equipment that is an integral part of the physical plant and is necessary to support the production being performed, including material handling equipment, process heating and cooling systems, illumination and compressed air systems.
• Selects, installs, maintains, modifies and modernizes all Plant utilities including electric power, gas, water, fuel, waste removal systems and communications.
• Plans, selects, installs, maintains, modifies and modernizes the environmental protection and resource recovery systems
• Maintains engineering documents including P&IDs, piping isometrics, building drawings, equipment drawings and equipment manuals
• Manages performance and professional development of Maintenance personnel. Works with the Training department to ensure craftsman acquire and maintain necessary certifications.
• Responsible for budget expenditures in their area of responsibility, ensures maintenance accounting policy and cost consistency are maintained.
• Ensures resources (people, tools, equipment, etc.) are utilized in the safest, most-efficient methods possible.
• Enforces culture that will stop unsafe work, and correct unsafe work practices.
• Understands and helps implement Site environmental policy and objectives
• Is aware of potential environmental impacts within this position's area of responsibility and the consequences if an upset occurs
• Performs other duties that may be assigned
