Job Title : Utility Billing Clerk

PURPOSE : Provides financial clerical support within a City department, performing duties related to accounts receivable, cashiering, utility billing, and other financial functions. This position maintains financial and other data in manual or automated systems, prepares forms and correspondence, assists customers with documents, collects and receipts payments, and performs additional tasks as assigned. The wage is $28 an hour!

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS :

• Financial Clerk I / II : Entry-level or trainee positions providing clerical financial support with routine tasks within defined parameters. Work is performed under close supervision with frequent review by a supervisor. Positions may advance to Financial Clerk II upon meeting required qualifications and demonstrating proficiency.
• Senior Financial Clerk : Journey-level position with greater independence, handling complex financial clerical work and / or serving as a lead worker within a unit.
