Position Summary

The Fabricator is responsible for performing finishing and fabrication tasks to complete the final assembly of hollow metal frames. This includes using hand-held grinding and painting equipment to achieve high-quality finishes in compliance with project specifications. The role also supports general shop operations, including material handling, organization, and maintenance of a safe and efficient work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform finishing and fabrication tasks efficiently and accurately to complete final assembly of hollow metal frames.
• Operate safety equipment and adhere to OSHA and company safety standards, including required use of PPE such as eye, ear, and respiratory protection.
• Lay out, align, and secure parts and assemblies to ensure accurate finishing. - REMOVE
• Perform grinding, sanding, filling, and painting tasks using appropriate tools and materials such as bondo, squares, clamps, tape measures, and painting equipment.
• Finish and coat frames according to project requirements.
• Inspect finished products for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
• Identify faulty equipment operation or defective materials and report to the Shop Lead or Shop Manager.
• Organize and store incoming materials; stage outgoing products for delivery or pickup, as requested.
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks, moving materials, and operating forklifts when needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace and assist with general shop upkeep and maintenance.
• May be trained or requested to support shop activities such as door alterations, lite kit installation, on-site service work, and local deliveries.
• Participate in shop meetings and assist with year-end inventory as required.

Working Conditions

Work is primarily performed Indoor, climate-controlled shop environment. Frequent use of hand and power tools, grinders, and painting equipment. Regular standing, lifting, and material handling required. Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in all work areas.

Salary : $24-$26 per hour, based on experience

Hours : 6 : 00 am - 2 : 30pm, Monday-Friday

Employment for this position is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and drug screening. This role is classified as safety-sensitive, and as such, is subject to a zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy. Drug screening will be conducted in accordance with federal regulations, including but not limited to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and applicable state and local laws. A positive drug test or failure to comply with the screening process will result in disqualification from employment.
