Systems Engineer - Mars Surface and Mars Transit

We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer - Mars Surface and Mars Transit to join our JETS II contract team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the planning, development, review, and maintenance of requirements and verification plans.
• Generating the Concept of Operations (ConOps).
• Prepare materials for the system life cycle phasing, including SRR (System Readiness Review), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR) and present the material.
• Identify risks, develop risk statements, and plan risk responses.
• Perform and review system level architecture trade studies and analyses that influence the overall system design and performance.
• Develop certification and acceptance test plans.
• Support Test and Verification (T&V) activities.
• Track and organize materials for project meetings and reviews.
• Identify and engage with stakeholders.
• Work in a small team environment and report to the project manager for technical support, task assignment, and processes.
• Perform job functions based on pre-established guidelines or instructions.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Maintain a professional relationship with the NASA customer and other NASA support contractors.
