Pay Rate Range : $60.00 - $70.00

Non-Technical Requirements : Must have a valid driver's license. Selected candidate will require passing of NERC CIP Personnel Risk Assessment. We would also like to get 2 references from the most recent roles the applicant has worked.

Job Description :

A leading utility provider in New York, NY is seeking a Technical Server Administrator with strong Nutanix and VMware experience to join their team on a full-time, onsite contract basis . This role is ideal for a proactive, customer-focused professional with a passion for system performance, reliability, and automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support VMware vSphere and Nutanix environments.
• Manage and maintain Nutanix clusters , including administration, performance tuning, and support escalation.
• Perform Windows Server and Desktop OS management - including user administration, file systems, and services.
• Administer and maintain Active Directory , including GPO setup, backup, and recovery.
• Monitor system health, track performance metrics, and identify areas for optimization.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, Perl, or KSH to streamline operations.
• Implement and support networking fundamentals - DHCP, DNS, routing, and firewalls.
• Ensure adherence to security best practices including ACL management, encryption, and patch compliance.
• Support disaster recovery , including system, application, and data backup / restoration.
• Provide Tier 2 / Tier 3 technical support with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Participate in on-call rotation and perform off-hour maintenance or emergency response as needed.
