Senior Acquisition Lead
BTAS is seeking a Senior Acquisition Lead to support multiple Space Systems Command (SSC) programs, as well as other initiatives across the Space Force, Air Force, and allied organizations. SSC specializes in highly classified Space Domain Awareness (SDA) systems, Defensive and Offensive Space Control (DSC / OSC) capabilities, and space test range assets to support the Department of Defense's (DoD) current and future operational needs. This position will support SSC / SZ-BC programs and other initiatives across the Space Force, Air Force, and allied organizations. Primary Responsibilities :
- Provide space acquisitions, engineering, operations, and technical assistance for all project stages within the acquisition lifecycle.
- Support program acquisition efforts for advanced technology, future concept development, and integration activities.
- Advise the government on cost, schedule, and performance matters.
- Revise or draft Joint Capabilities Integrated Development System (JCIDS) and acquisition documentation for government review and presentation.
- Ensure documentation aligns with the latest government guidance (e.g., MIL-STD).
- Provide technical and programmatic status reports on individual programs or portfolios as requested.
- Identify and recommend acquisition process improvements, risk reduction strategies, and technical, organizational, or programmatic changes.
- Assist in building and maintaining a government risk program, including risk identification, process definition, and risk mitigation planning.
- Support the government program manager in financial oversight, including commitments, obligations, expenditures, and earned value management.
- Provide Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) support, including congressional reporting, fiscal year planning, continuing resolution management, and Program Objective Memorandum (POM) development.
- Offer subject matter expertise in Integrated Baseline Reviews / Business Financial Reviews to assess defense contractor cost and schedule performance.
- Monitor program schedules, report requirement shortfalls, and provide program risk assessments.
- Maintain and update acquisition reports by correlating program execution data with program baselines.
- Advise on technical engagements, including interchange meetings, design reviews, conferences, video teleconferences, and working groups.
- Maintain awareness of all programs and technology development efforts across the portfolio.
- Assist integrated product teams and working groups while establishing customer and contractor interfaces.
- Support the government in executing source selections in accordance with FAR 9.505-4.
- Assist with source selection activities, including coordinating meetings, developing documentation (e.g., source selection plans, acquisition strategies, and non-disclosure agreements), and reviewing and drafting proposal evaluations.

Expert in acquiring classified ACAT-like space control systemsExpert in developing and coordinating all activities and documentation required to support ACAT-like Defense Acquisition Boards (DABs)Expert in developing and coordinating all activities and documentation required to support a major source selection for an ACAT-like programHighly knowledgeable in the fields of Air Force contracting and Air Force financial managementDemonstrates ability to lead all aspects of any contract action required by the program office, including but not limited to solicitations, change proposals, funding modifications, and award or incentive fee managementAt least 10 years' experience in this type of position or program is requiredMA / MS degree is requiredWork Environment : This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
Physical Demands : Must be able to operate a computer and other standard office equipment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, 80%.
Travel : Little if any travel is required.
Compensation / Salary Range : $143,000 - $250,000 Annual Salary
