Position Summary :
The President of Property Management provides executive leadership for the organization’s residential portfolio, including multifamily, senior living, and build-to-rent properties. This role is responsible for driving operational efficiency, tenant satisfaction, and financial performance across all communities. The President oversees VPs of Property Management, VP of Marketing, and VP Maintenance. They set companywide standards for residential management and ensure that all properties operate in alignment with the company’s brand, mission, and growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities :
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute strategic plans to grow and optimize the residential portfolio.
- Set vision and direction for property operations, resident experience, and revenue growth.
- Partner with executive leadership on market expansion, asset acquisitions, and long-term planning.
Operational Management
Oversee day-to-day operations of all residential communities through VPs, RPMs, and property managers.Implement companywide standards for leasing, maintenance, curb appeal, and tenant services.Ensure consistent execution of property upgrades, renovations, and preventative maintenance programs.Financial Performance
Drive performance metrics including occupancy, rent growth, collections, and expense control.Prepare and manage operational budgets and capital improvement plans across the portfolio.Analyze portfolio performance and present quarterly reports to stakeholders and ownership groups.Talent Development & Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of VPs.Foster a culture of accountability, service, and continuous improvement.Align training, compensation, and performance evaluation systems with business objectives.Resident Experience
Establish and monitor customer service benchmarks to ensure a positive living experience.Oversee resident retention strategies, reputation management, and community engagement efforts.Resolve escalated resident concerns and legal matters as needed.Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local residential housing regulations.Oversee fair housing training, safety protocols, and risk mitigation initiatives.Maintain strong vendor and legal partnerships to support operations.Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in business, Real Estate, or a related field (MBA preferred)Minimum 10+ years of leadership experience in residential property management or asset management required.Experience managing portfolios of 20,000+ units across multiple markets required.Strong knowledge of leasing strategy, financial modeling, and resident retention best practicesSkilled in property management software platforms (e.g., RealPage)Proven ability to lead large, geographically dispersed teamsSuccess Metrics :
