Overview

Seasonal Event Technician, Audio Visual – Orlando Marriott World Center at Encore. A seasonal Technician is responsible for the setup and operation of basic / small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director, Event Technology.

Position period : This seasonal position will have a start date of September 2025 and end date of May 2026. Seasonal full-time positions offer benefits, overtime, training, and promotional opportunities. At the end of season May 2026, you may be invited to reapply based on business levels and performance.

Responsibilities

• Equipment Operation : Ensure a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications section.
• Customer Service : Strive to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers; maintain positive relationships with clients through effective communication; meet with guests on site to ensure needs are met and equipment is functioning properly; monitor events and check in on customers throughout the day; foster the hotel / client relationship.
• Technical Ability : Understand the technical aspects of the job and demonstrate basic operational ability to troubleshoot and problem solve with equipment and software issues; handle equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
• Systems Knowledge : Understand company processes, follow procedures, and complete systems entry and paperwork accurately; use equipment sheets to determine equipment for setup and strike; interact with staff and vendors; apply floor up-selling techniques; work with clients to finalize invoices; complete order entries as needed.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Work is performed in a hotel / convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand, and dust. Working conditions range from moderately quiet to noisy. Team members will use high-end AV equipment and electrical components and may be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders. May work in multiple hotel locations with irregular hours, on-call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Appearance guidelines apply as defined by Encore or the hotels involved.

Physical requirements : Ability to meet specified physical criteria to perform essential job functions. The following are categorized by frequency : Occasionally, Frequently, Continuously. Examples include lifting up to 50-100 lbs, carrying, pushing / pulling, and visual / hearing requirements as detailed in the original description.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Pay Range : $15.10 – $18.48. Compensation is based on qualifications, location, travel, and experience. Some positions may be eligible for overtime, bonuses, or incentives. Encore is committed to providing benefits to employees; view the benefits options for employees worldwide.
