About Impact Justice

Impact Justice advances safety, justice, and opportunity through boundary-breaking work that honors and empowers people and is changing expectations about what we can accomplish together. We imagine, build, and scale innovations, leverage research and other knowledge to connect the desire for change with informed action, and work to shift the narrative so that decision-makers and the public understand what's at stake and what's possible. Specifically, we work to reduce the number of people caught up in harmful legal systems by creating alternatives that are responsive, restorative, fair, and effective; to improve living conditions and life outcomes and safeguard fundamental human rights for the millions of people still subject to mass incarceration; and to expand opportunities for formerly incarcerated and other system-involved people to heal, fully participate in community life, and reach their potential. We operate from the understanding that the struggle for justice takes place in a context of historic, systemic, and pervasive racism. Learn more at impactjustice.org.

About the Menopause Project

The primary goal of the Menopause Project is to provide specialized, holistic care for women experiencing incarceration in the perimenopause and menopause life stages to reduce adverse short- and long-term health outcomes incurred by untreated symptoms. Higher rates of specialized care for women during these health stages results in lower overall lifetime health costs for the patient and improved mental and physical health.

What You'll Do

The Menopause Project includes a 1-year long pilot designed to address an education and training gap within California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS). The pilot will engage stakeholders and participants at the Central California Women's Facility (CCWF) and the California Institution for Women (CIW) (and – down the road – potentially other states' departments of corrections). The Program Analyst will collaborate with the Menopause Project Director and CCHCS stakeholders to provide support in the following areas :

  • Assess and refine evaluation tools to improve physician evaluation forms, ensuring alignment with pilot activities.
  • Develop educational guides for physicians to reference during the pilot.
  • Support baseline data collection efforts and help build the data model.
  • Design and implement pilot monitoring and follow-up mechanisms.
  • Develop patient awareness campaign materials (posters, flyers, etc.).
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure program effectiveness.
  • Conduct research as needed to support project goals.
  • Assist with communications efforts, including designing and preparing presentation materials for key CCHCS and CDCR stakeholders.

Job Requirements :

Work Schedule and Location This is a part-time contract position, anticipated to begin in late March or early April 2025 and continue through at least August 2025. The Program Analyst is expected to work approximately 5-15 hours per week and should be adaptable to meet both internal and external deadlines. As the Menopause pilot transitions fully into implementation, there may be an opportunity to expand this role into a full-time or longer-term position. This position is primarily remote, with occasional in-person meetings at the Impact Justice office in Oakland, CA, and at prison facilities as needed.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience Required

  • Comfortable interacting with a wide variety of people, including individuals impacted by the criminal legal system, criminal legal system staff and officials, and individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences
  • Experience with research, data analysis, and synthesis to inform project decisions and reporting
  • Experience creating visually compelling presentation materials, including reports and decks, using programs including Google Slides and / or Canva
  • Able to juggle simultaneous multiple project tasks and research assignments
  • Adept at time management with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Team player with ability to complete big or small tasks, communicate needs, facilitate meetings, hold themselves accountable and resolve conflict in a restorative way
  • Exemplary ethical standards and a deep commitment to social and racial justice
  • Tech-savvy : adept with Google Suite, Excel, Canva (optional – Google Slides okay / preferred) and databases / case management systems
  • Preferred, but not required

  • Prior work or school experience building and / or scaling program pilots
  • Prior work experience within the criminal / juvenile justice system, public health or healthcare sector, or other related social justice movements
  • Personal experience within the social service system; including being system-impacted, formerly incarcerated, a former foster youth, or have loved ones who are systems-impacted
