Senior Transportation / Traffic Engineer

Are you passionate about creating safer, more efficient transportation systems? VHB's New England Transportation Systems Group is growing, and we're looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Transportation / Traffic Engineer to join our team!

In this role, you'll lead impactful projects focused on planning, designing, and supporting the construction of temporary traffic control systems, construction phasing, and smart work zone solutionsall aligned with MUTCD and AASHTO design standards. Additionally, you'll contribute your expertise to traffic signal design and transportation planning initiatives, driving innovative solutions for communities across New England.

Responsibilities

• Development of simple-to-complex Temporary Traffic Control Plans (TTCP), including traditional and smart work zones and construction phase service planning for state, municipal and private clients.
• Development of Construction Phasing Design Plans detailing traffic staging for multi-year, multi-stage construction projects.
• Work within a team of professionals to draft plans, calculation book, estimates and specifications for a variety of transportation projects.
• Writing technical reports and memoranda.
• Perform engineering field work as needed.
• Project task management and mentorship of junior staff
