Apidel Technologies is seeking a local contract Histology Technologist for a local contract job in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Position : Histotechnician

Duration : Project Starting With 06+ months of contract and after understanding of instrument of facility, Work environment of facility & bonding with manager the project it will go to FTE.

Location : Milwaukee, WI

Shift Timing : 1pm to 9 : 30 pm

Required Skills :

  • \tEmbedding experience.
  • \tMicrotomy experience
  • \tCut 20 to 30 blocks / hour, Embed 20 to 30 / hour

    • Job Description :

  • \tThe histotechnician will perform all routine and special paraffin histotechnology duties in our state of the art, CAP-certified pathology laboratory.
  • \tUnder the guidance of a Senior or Lead Histotechnologist, you will provide high quality diagnostic material within established turn-around-times.

    • Position Responsibilities :

  • \tEmbeds, cuts, stains and performs other tasks required to process tissue in the Immunohistochemistry laboratory.
  • \tPerforms accurate gross description on tissue samples.
  • \tPerform quality control procedures established for each method and maintains accurate records.
  • \tOperates all instruments / equipment according to accepted written procedures and recognizes and identifies instrument / equipment problems.
  • \tMeets acceptable turnaround time and productivity standards for the section.
  • \tRecognizes testing errors / discrepancies or problems and notifies appropriate personnel; assists in problem resolution.
  • \tRecord, transcribe, and maintain records of patient test results according to protocol.
  • \tAssist other personnel with identifying and analyzing inconsistent and abnormal results.
  • \tReview accuracy and completeness of results prior to releasing in the Laboratory Information System.
  • \tComplete routine and STAT testing within acceptable turn-around time guidelines.

    • Required :

  • \tAssociate degree in medical technology, chemistry, biology, or related life science.
  • \tFormal training in Histology from an accredited program (720 hours).
  • \tMeets CLIA personnel standard criteria.
  • \tOver 1 years of embedding and Microtomy experience.
  • \tSkills in microtomy, grossing, processing, embedding, cutting and routine special staining techniques.
  • \t5-7 years of experience
