Security Assistant Position
Cimarron is seeking a Security Assistant to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Space Force Base in the Colorado Springs, CO area. Key duties include providing security support to the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Program, receiving and processing incoming and outgoing visitor access requests, assisting with access control for designated areas, serving as the alternate block captain, ensuring workforce safety, reporting hazards, and assisting with evacuations. The role also involves timely incident reporting, conducting INFOSEC self-inspections, participating in INFOSEC reviews, attending quarterly security manager meetings, assisting in writing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs), participating in weekly team meetings, assisting with the management of security documents and databases, reporting suspected compromises or losses of classified information to the Facility Security Manager, supporting daily security operations, mission functions, instructor-led training, and event coordination, preparing and delivering security briefings as needed, providing comprehensive support to the MDA / GM Security Manager and Facility Security Manager, including GSA safe assignments, and supporting additional duties as assigned by the Facility Security Manager.
Required skills, experience, and education include due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time. Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include, but is not limited to, testing for marijuana use. This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. Active Secret Clearance (or higher). Three or more years of experience in a DoD environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience using the Defense Information System for Security (DISS). Knowledge and understanding of DoDM 5200.1. Experience working in a classified environment. Experience safeguarding classified materials. Familiarity with CFR 32 Part 117 National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM). Understanding of classified document markings. Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Skilled in creating and following standard processes and documenting results. Self-starter able to identify risks, issues, and opportunities, and escalate them to the Facility Security Manager. Strong presentation, oral, and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Demonstrated commitment to customer service with a positive attitude. Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
Desired skills, experience, and education include completion of the FSO Curriculum for Possessing Facilities through CDSE. Previous security experience within or supporting DoD programs.
