ICU Travel Nurse Job Details Location : Chesapeake, VA 23320 (Coastal Virginia nursing jobs) Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 17 / 2025 – End : 2 / 16 / 2026) Shift : Night, 4x12-hour shifts per week (19 : 00 – 07 : 30) Hours per Week : 48 hours (overtime available after 48 hours) Setting : Intensive Care Unit (ICU) – Registered Nurse Employment Type : Travel nursing assignment Weekly Estimated Pay : $1780–$1910 per week ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Virginia or Compact RN license in hand at time of application Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience (3 years preferred; strong candidates with less considered) Strong neuro ICU experience required (post-neurosurgical, EVD, and stroke care) Proficiency with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system (required) BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association) NIHSS certification Willingness to float to Stepdown, Emergency Department (ED), or MedSurg units as needed No prior license or background issues (strict requirement) Must pass EKG testing (80% or higher, one attempt only) Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions allowed) Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (local candidates not accepted) ICU Nurse Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients in the ICU Manage complex neuro ICU patients, including post-neurosurgical, EVD, and stroke cases Monitor and titrate IV drips, manage ventilators, and perform telemetry monitoring Administer conscious sedation and respond to medical emergencies as needed Float to Stepdown, ED, or MedSurg units to provide ICU-level care when required Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, physical therapy, and pharmacy Care for a diverse patient population : neurosurgical, respiratory failure, renal failure, post-surgical, trauma, sepsis, MODS, heart failure, and post-cardiac cath patients Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EHR Apply now to join our healthcare team as a travel ICU Registered Nurse in Chesapeake, Virginia, and take the next step in your nursing career!
