Deputy Director of Office of Human Resources and Organizational Development
The Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) is seeking a talented individual who shares the division's commitment to providing continuous professional development of a large and diverse workforce for the Office of Human Resources and Organizational Development (OHROD). The Deputy Director of the Office of Human Resources and Organizational Development (OHROD) is an Executive Service position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of all five (5) OHROD units : Talent Acquisition, Employee Services, Classification & Compensation, Organizational Development, and Employee & Labor Relations. The Deputy Director provides direct supervision to unit managers, ensures accurate implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and ensures compliance with all MDOT policies, MVA directives, and Federal and State employment laws. This role also ensures full alignment of OHROD programs with MVA's strategic goals and organizational priorities.
The Deputy Director will also serve as a key member of the OHROD Leadership Team. The Deputy Director supports the Director in setting strategic direction and modeling professionalism, sound judgment, collaboration, customer focus, and confidentiality. The position is responsible for delivering and promoting superior customer service to internal customers and stakeholders, supporting all MVA employees across branches and operational facilities.

The current vacancy exists at MDOT MVA, which is located in Glen Burnie, MD (Anne Arundel County). This hybrid position allows for a combination of telework and in-office work. More details will be discussed during the interview process.

Preferred qualifications : Education : A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Experience : Five (5) years of professional HR work in the areas of either job analysis, job evaluation, salary administration, employee talent acquisition, employment services and benefits, employer-employee relations, HR program evaluation, or HR policy formulation. Two (2) years must have been in staff supervision and / or management of HR processes in Talent Acquisition, Employee Services, Classification & Compensation, Organizational Development, and Employee & Labor Relations.
