Division Materials Manager
This role is responsible for the materials management for the entire division, large site, or numerous value streams. Position will report to the Division Supply Chain Manager. Will lead materials management team members. Work with suppliers, business units, procurement, planners, I / T and other appropriate resources to strategically plan and coordinate the flow of materials and information from customers through order fulfillment. Matrix management responsibilities with business units and support groups for planning, logistics, shipping, receiving and inventory functions.
Essential functions include promoting and fostering a safe work environment, managing overall strategic planning practices, implementing a lean approach to materials management including material flow and inventory control, and completing demand forecasting and supply planning to ensure the availability of all materials and products at minimum cost. Additionally, the role involves ensuring PFEP & capacity planning activities to support division performance, analyzing inventories and developing plans to balance inventory percentage of sales and optimize customer service, collaborating with business partners to optimize customer experience, establishing and implementing standard re-order and delivery procedures, balancing supply with demand through Sales and Operations Planning implementation and execution, utilizing forecasting tools to create effective demand management processes, employing data analysis and information technology to improve division performance, and being responsible for part data accuracy.
Qualifications include analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper automation opportunities, demonstrated proficiency in MRP, Microsoft programs, excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, and understanding of lean enterprise principles and practices. Education requirement is a Bachelors Degree (4 Year) in Supply Chain or Operations Management, Business, Engineering or other. An advanced degree such as MBA is preferred. Minimum of 6 - 8+ years of applicable experience in materials management, supply chain or operations is required. Professional Certification - APICS or ISM is preferred. Supply Chain Training Program - such as Client Executive Development Program is preferred.
