VR Counselor (Topeka)

Day-to-Day Responsibilities :

• Assist individuals with disabilities in finding and applying for jobs
• Counsel individuals on suitable job opportunities based on their skills and interests
• Work with adults with disabilities to empower them towards self-sufficiency, independence, inclusion, economic equality, and integration into society
• Support individuals in identifying job-related goals and developing individual plans for employment
• Provide or arrange a variety of services, including training, physical / mental restoration, assistive technology, supported employment, and job placement
• Offer significant counseling and guidance to help individuals identify their strengths and abilities, adjust to their disabilities, and exercise informed choice throughout the vocational rehabilitation process
• Maintain progress through individual plans and understand labor market trends and employment opportunities
