Accounting Consultant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounting Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing revenue and sales allowances, ensuring data accuracy, and maintaining compliance with financial regulations. Responsibilities include tracking and validating discounts, rebates, and liabilities for large customers, ensuring contractual agreements are accurately reflected in financial statements, extracting and reconciling data from multiple sources, investigating discrepancies between shipments, billing, and cost of goods sold, preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities, managing prepaids, amortizations, and fixed asset schedules, developing and maintaining complex Excel workbooks for financial analysis, and utilizing advanced Excel functions like VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables. Compliance with GAAP and internal controls is also essential. Essential skills include a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field, CPA preferred, 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment, advanced Excel proficiency, and experience with ERP systems, NetSuite preferred. Additional skills and qualifications include the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities, experience with general ledger, reconciliation, and revenue reconciliation, and familiarity with sales allowances and working with large customers. This is a contract position based out of Irvine, CA. The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00 / hr.
