Job descriptionPhysical Therapist Job Description Physical Therapist Job Summary Provide physical therapy services to patients in an inpatient/acute care hospital setting. The therapist will evaluate and treat patients with a variety of diagnoses including ortho, neuro, oncology, post-op back, necks, basic med surg and ICU (medical, cardiac and surgical) patients. Focus on improving patient mobility, strength, and function to promote optimal recovery. The patient load is approximately 10-12 patients per day with a productivity standard of 80%. Key Responsibilities Evaluate patients' physical condition, including medical history, physical examination, and functional assessments. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals. Provide therapeutic interventions, including manual therapy, exercise programs, functional training, and modalities. Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and speech therapists. Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, home exercise programs, and injury prevention strategies. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and progress. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care services. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and professional standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist. Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program. Current Texas Physical Therapist license (will accept pending). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Epic EMR. Experience in an acute care hospital setting.
