Responsibilities :

The CICS COBOL Systems Programmer will support Barrow Wise's State of Illinois project and perform the following duties :

• Develop and maintain COBOL applications in a CICS environment.
• Create custom scripts to efficiently extract and manipulate data, enhancing the functionality of our systems.
• Monitor system performance and make recommendations for improvements
• Troubleshoot and resolve CICS-related issues
• Document system configuration and procedures
• Export files to EDI X12 format
• Ensure software applications meet all performance and security standards
• Demonstrate expertise in CICS and COBOL programming
• Demonstrate strong expertise in Mainframe IMS (Information Management Systems) and MVS (Multiple Virtual Storage)
• Perform maintenance and project tasks for the Department staff.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement software solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal application performance.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Work remotely, or in Springfield, IL / Rockville, MD
