Budgeting Analyst Trainee

Reporting to the Associate Budgeting Analyst, the duties include, but are not limited to the following :

• Assist in the finance and budget operations for the agency, including but not limited to voucher processing, budget journals and transfers, suballocations, and the procurement card program in the Statewide Financial System (SFS);
• Assist in the development of the agency's annual budget request and assist in the creation of the agency's annual spending plan by fund and program;
• Aid in the monitoring of the agency's spending;
• Process victim compensation payments, including daily bulkload vouchers, emergency award payments, and stopped or reissued payments;
• Respond in various forms (oral and written) to questions from the public or others concerning the operation of the unit and / or to explain and interpret agency rules, regulations, policies, or procedures;
• Ensure the agency bank accounts are balanced and operating in compliance with all appropriate internal controls;
• Prepare the federal fiscal reports and the drawdown of federal funds (reimbursement to State) for supervisory review and submit to the federal government upon approval;
• Assist in the preparation of the annual Victim Compensation Certification form to report agency spending on Victim Compensation to the federal government;
• Supervise and train staff; and
• Other tasks as assigned to assist with the daily operations of the Administrative Services Unit.
