Job Title : Maintenance Scheduler Location : Baltimore, Maryland Type : Contract (6 months) Compensation : $42–$56 / hour Contractor Work Model : Onsite Hours : Monday–Friday, 7 : 00 AM–3 : 00 PM MAINTENANCE SCHEDULER OVERVIEW The Maintenance Scheduler is responsible for the efficient and effective scheduling of maintenance activities to optimize resource utilization and minimize operational disruption. Responsible for administering the maintenance work schedule via the CMMS system, coordinating labor resources and equipment availability and collaborating with the maintenance team and production. This role is critical to ensure accurate and timely completion of planned maintenance work, enhancing reliability, operational stability and overall plant productivity. RESPONSIBILITIES Promotes a safe and clean work environment where safety is the highest priority and embedded in our culture. Ensure that all scheduled work incorporates required safety procedures, pre-job safety assessments, and permits identified in the job plans. Develop, maintain and distribute daily, weekly, monthly and longer-term maintenance schedules for mechanical and electrical technicians, incorporating preventive, predictive, corrective and project-related work orders. Align work order priorities, resource availability and operational constraints to formulate an efficient and achievable work schedule. Ensure scheduling adheres to priority and completion dates incorporating any planned back log work orders. Collaborate with key stakeholders, (maintenance, production, engineering) to understand the scope of planned maintenance activities and production needs, mitigating downtime and output impact. Facilitates routine scheduling meetings to finalize schedules and address any conflicts with Maintenance and Operations. Coordinates and liaises with contractor activities on-site into a Master maintenance schedule. Adjust schedules as necessary in response to emergency repairs, changes in resource availability and / or operational upsets, minimizing impact on planned maintenance activities. Forecast labor availability and skill requirements to guarantee adequate coverage for the scheduled maintenance activities; allocating appropriate labor to work orders based on skills and availability; balancing workloads across trades to ensure adequate distribution and ensuring all required tools and equipment are available to complete scheduled maintenance activities. Develops schedules to 80% of available manhours and ensures that Maintenance Supervision and Craftsmen have job plan details in paper or digital format. Effectively communicate all approved maintenance schedules and changes; collaborate with maintenance planners ensuring seamless transition from planned to scheduled work; provide feedback regarding issues or enhancements related to job plan accuracy, duration estimates or resource requirements influencing scheduling. Utilize appropriate systems to build, update and communicate maintenance schedules; ensure the system reflects current schedule status, resource assignments, and work order progress relevant to scheduling; maintain system data integrity; track & report on schedule compliance, resource utilization, backlog status and other key scheduling performance indicators. This includes regular weekly Maintenance schedules, as well as Outage and longer-term project durations. Understand how maintenance activities coordination and interferences fit into work execution Collaborates with Maintenance planner to adjust and rectify discrepancies in Estimated Labor vs Actual Labor Usage for future work execution improvement. Perform other job duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS High School diploma or GED required 3+ years demonstrated experience in a safety sensitive environment, preferably in a continuous manufacturing process. Knowledge of critical path analysis A working knowledge of CMMS / Project Management software. Ability to generate reports from a CMMS system Understanding of maintenance lifecycle, from work identification, planning, scheduling, through execution Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and / or Google Suite. Intermediate proficiency using root cause analysis to troubleshoot and solve problems. Knowledge of different scheduling methodologies. Understanding of how to effectively allocate labor, tools and equipment. Awareness of operational processes and how maintenance activities can impact them. Ability to identify schedule conflicts, resource constraints and make adjustments. Familiar with standard manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures. Ability to read and interpret work order scopes, job plans to understand scheduling requirements.
