Job Title : Maintenance Planner Location : Baltimore, Maryland Type : Contract (6 months, possibility for extension) Compensation : $40–$55 / hour Contractor Work Model : Onsite Hours : Monday–Friday, 7 : 00 AM–3 : 00 PM MAINTENANCE PLANNER OVERVIEW The Maintenance Planner is responsible for work order management via the CMMS system, developing detailed maintenance job plans, identifying tools, resources and materials required for all planned maintenance activities and ensuring safety protocols are incorporated into all plans. The position is instrumental in optimizing equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and contributing to overall plant safety and productivity through diligent planning and execution. RESPONSIBILITIES Safety & Compliance Promote a safe, clean work environment with safety as the highest priority. Ensure all planned work incorporates required safety procedures and pre-job safety assessments. Ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards in all job plans. Planning & Coordination Lead the planning phase of the workflow process, including work identification, job plan creation, plan auditing, and process optimization. Develop detailed job plans outlining labor, materials, tools, work procedures, and safety requirements. Maintain a Job Plan library within the CMMS for efficient future planning. Convert preventive / predictive maintenance findings into actionable corrective plans. Manage maintenance backlog, including prioritization and planning meetings with Maintenance, Operations, Safety, Quality, and Engineering. Identify required materials and generate purchase requests for non-stocked parts. Coordinate scope and requirements with external contractors to ensure compliance with site procedures. CMMS & Work Order Management Serve as a primary CMMS user (Maximo preferred). Review, investigate, and process work orders from initiation through “Ready to Schedule” or “Awaiting Materials.” Maintain preventive / predictive maintenance plans, job plan documentation, and work frequencies within the CMMS. Identify or create new item numbers for planned maintenance work. Project & Scheduling Support Support planning aspects of capital and maintenance projects, including cost estimation and design input. Assist during maintenance scheduling depending on site size and structure. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED (Required), Associate’s degree, technical degree, or related certification (Preferred) 5+ years industrial manufacturing experience (continuous manufacturing preferred) 3+ years’ experience in a maintenance department using a CMMS / work order system Electrical and mechanical understanding (mixed discipline environment) Working knowledge of CMMS and project management software Understanding of time, materials, labor, tools, and maintenance execution Proficiency in root cause analysis and troubleshooting Experience with pneumatic / hydraulic systems, VFDs, AC / DC drives Knowledge of rotating equipment, lubrication, and machine components Ability to read schematics, shop drawings, and diagrams Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies (vibration, oil analysis, thermal imaging) Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously Preferred Knowledge of critical path analysis Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and manuals Knowledge of maintenance planning principles and work coordination Intermediate proficiency with Google Suite or Microsoft Office PPE Requirements Steel-toed safety shoes / boots Long-sleeved shirts Eye and ear protection provided onsite System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé, ALTA IT Services, and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
