Our client, a leader in the meat industry is currently seeking a Sales Account Manager - Food Service to join their dynamic team.

In this role, you'll be instrumental in driving growth and success in the Western USA market. Collaborating closely with regional leadership and marketing counterparts, you'll develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet and exceed objectives.

With your expertise in customer relationship management, logistics coordination, and business development, you'll ensure exceptional service to our valued food service clients.

Responsibilities

Sales Strategy :

  • Collaborate with the Regional Sales Director and North American marketing team to develop annual and long-term strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to serve existing retail and food service customers while attracting new ones in the region.

Sales and Marketing :

  • Research and develop annual sales plans aligned with established strategies.
  • Create customer-specific business plans and budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of promotional materials for the region.

Procurement Plan :

  • Review and confirm monthly inventory orders in line with sales plans and customer demand.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team regarding product needs for planned activities.

Customer & Distribution Relationship Management :

  • Maintain and strengthen customer relationships to secure supply contracts.
  • Identify and develop relationships with prospective customers and distribution channels.
  • Stay informed about market trends and competitor activities.

Logistics and Transportation :

  • Coordinate distribution channels to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Monitor inventory levels and product rotation in storage centers.

Supplier Relations :

Maintain regular communication with major suppliers to stay informed about market trends.

Performance Effectiveness :

  • Meet financial, customer, and business goals in the Eastern USA market.
  • Monitor accounts receivables and report on market activity.
  • Undertake professional development activities as needed.

Business Development :

  • Identify opportunities for business growth.
  • Collaborate with the team to explore new retail product opportunities.
  • Maintain a network of influencers to support business development efforts.

Success Measures

  • Achieve retail and food service sales objectives on a monthly and annual basis.
  • Ensure successful product delivery while meeting inventory targets.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in regional retail and food services sales dealing with meat products.
  • Experience with Sysco is a major asset.
  • Prior experience with major retailers and food service providers is preferred.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and sales planning skills.
  • Fluency in English and proficiency in Excel and ERP software.
  • Willingness to travel for business 25%-30% of the time
