General Job Summary
We are currently seeking a social-first Freelance Strategy Director for a 3+ month, full-time assignment beginning in December 2025 / January 2026. In this role, you will dive into clients' businesses, understanding their marketing challenges and proposing solutions and helping lead our team of integrated gaming marketing experts.
Important Call-outs :
- This is an estimated 3+ month assignment
- Mutiny pays our freelance staff W2 payroll. Unfortunately corp to corp or 1099 options will not be considered
- Passion for gaming is mandatory; RPG shooter games are a huge plus
- Experience with leading strategy on creative social campaign rollouts and social content plans is required - paid media is not necessarily a fit for this role
- Must be comfortable leading creative strategy for a large-scale, complex client environment - must have experience doing this for an integrated marketing agency
What You Will Do
Help lead insights and strategy with innovative, fresh execution of strategic gaming-centric, social-forward & integrated initiativesCome to the table with strong knowledge and curiosity about changing trends in social media and integrated marketing within the video game spaceProvide strategic recommendations to existing or prospective gaming clients to include new customers / audiences, innovative programs, and market researchLead and co-create inspiring, informative briefs for our creative teams, in collaboration with our strategy & data partnersHelp lead strategic messaging & communications frameworks designed to inform where and how a brand ideally connects with desired audiencesProvide POVs on media and marketing tactics, collaborating with cross-functional teams and partner agencies when necessaryDefend and protect good ideasWho You Are
You have 10+ years of experience in social-forward and integrated marketing at a creative agency preferred. Previous experience as a Strategy Director in integrated marketing importantHands-on experience leading strategy and insights for creative campaigns (not purely paid media campaigns - creative, integrated, social-forward assets)Deep understanding of digital strategy, as it applies to brand analytics, social media, research, and emerging technology through a business lensPassionate about gaming culture, streaming, eSports, and marketing is important - current or previous FPS gameplay really helpfulSensitized to when to push and when to pull back in client / creative communicationThe ability to lead your team to push beyond the assignment or the "ask"Command of ALL the ways brands connect with people today - traditional, digital, event, etc.Comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and ready to provide ideas to continue to shape and shift our ever-growing agencyOther project duties as assignedCompensation :
