Senior Accountant
Symbiotic Services is actively recruiting a Senior Accountant on behalf of a client in the manufacturing industry. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and will handle key responsibilities such as month-end close, reconciliations, fixed asset management, lease accounting, and tax compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries during monthly and quarterly close cycles.
- Perform and review reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts (e.g., cash, prepaids, accruals, fixed assets).
- Manage daily/monthly cash reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and record depreciation.
- Account for leases under ASC 842 and manage prepaid expense amortizations.
- Prepare accrual schedules to ensure accurate expense recognition.
- Analyze cost accounting for raw materials, WIP, FG, and variances.
- Perform general ledger analysis to identify anomalies and misclassifications.
- Reconcile intercompany transactions and ensure proper eliminations.
- Support timely sales tax and regulatory filings.
- Assist with audit preparations and documentation.
- Collaborate with teams across Purchasing, Operations, and IT to enhance financial reporting.
- Support policy development, internal controls, and process improvements.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of corporate accounting experience.
- Proficiency in U.S. GAAP and general ledger operations.
- Strong skills in cash reconciliation and financial reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA or CMA (active or in progress) preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing or multi-entity environments.
- Familiarity with Oracle ERP and Crunchafi lease accounting software.

Primarily office-based with potential visits to production facilities. Must be comfortable working in a moderately active environment, with occasional lifting and physical activity required.
