Position Summary :
Maynard Steel Casting is looking to bring on a Foundry Production Supervisor to oversee and coordinate all molding and melting operations (air-set and green sand), ensuring metallurgical quality, safety compliance, and production efficiency. This leader will manage daily activities, supervise teams, and drive continuous improvement across melting and molding processes. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in large arc melting systems (10-ton+), strong leadership capabilities, and a commitment to operational excellence in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop foundry teams across shifts, promoting safety, teamwork, and accountability.
- Manage training, performance, and labor relations.
- Support sales and quality teams during customer interactions.
- Plan and execute production schedules to meet customer and quality standards.
- Monitor and optimize melting and molding processes for efficiency and cost control.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve issues.
- Enforce quality standards and inspect molds and castings.
- Ensure melts meet chemical and temperature requirements.
- Maintain compliance with ISO and OSHA regulations; lead safety initiatives and investigations.
- Oversee furnace performance, refractory lining, and electrodes.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and capital projects with maintenance and engineering teams.
- Minimize downtime through proactive repair and upgrade planning.
- Maintain accurate production, materials, and safety records.
- Track key metrics and prepare reports using Microsoft Excel and Odessy ERP (training provided).
Qualifications
15+ years of foundry melting experience (steel casting preferred).5+ years in a supervisory or leadership role.Bachelor’s degree in metallurgy, engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).Strong knowledge of arc furnace operations, air-set and green sand molding, and foundry safety standards.Proficient in Microsoft Office; ERP experience a plus (Odessy preferred).Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred.
