Dental Hygienist

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform dental prophylaxis and cleanings to remove plaque, tartar, and stains from patients' teeth.
• Conduct thorough oral examinations to identify signs of oral diseases, such as cavities or periodontal issues.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) to assist in diagnosing dental conditions.
• Administer fluoride treatments and apply dental sealants to protect patients' teeth from decay.
• Assess patients' periodontal health and provide appropriate treatment, such as scaling and root planning.
• Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including preparing the operatory, passing instruments, and providing support to ensure patient comfort.
• Maintain infection control standards, including sterilization of dental instruments and adherence to safety protocols.
• Monitor and record patients' medical histories, including any relevant medications or conditions that may affect dental treatment.
• Document treatment plans, procedures performed, and patient progress in dental records accurately and thoroughly.
• Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive patient care and assist in treatment planning.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in dental hygiene techniques, technologies, and research.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling.
• Provide a welcoming and friendly environment for patients
• Listen to patient concerns and provide empathetic care

Requirements :

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes :

• Successful completion of an accredited dental hygiene program.
• Valid state license to practice dental hygiene.
