Account Manager

The Account Manager will be primarily responsible for the ongoing management of commercial clients, retention of new and renewal clients, and maintaining a partnership with the producer / agent to support clients and insurance carrier relationships. Account managers are responsible for managing the relationship between the insurance company and the client. They work with a variety of individuals and businesses to help clients find the right coverage for the best price.

Personal Lines Account Manager Job Duties

  • Advise clients on any coverage, billing, and claims questions as it pertains to their insurance program
  • Prepare, complete, and submit applications to insurance carriers; develop proposals and provide technical support in coordination with Producer(s) / Agent(s)
  • Responsible for follow-up with carriers and clients on various insurance needs
  • Review policies, endorsements, and all documentation for accuracy and quality standards
  • Assist clients with coverage changes, binders, and endorsements
  • Responsible for existing client account review and renewal process including client contacts, remarketing, proposals, and any correspondence
  • Actively seek referrals from current clients and utilizes Applied Epic System to generate new business or cross sell new lines of coverage
  • Manage non-renewals and cancellation requests to retain business where appropriate
  • Update policy changes on clients' accounts in our system and advise insurance companies of these changes
  • Consult with clients to help process quotes and issue renewals or any updates needed to current policies
  • Gather all documentation needed from the client for reporting a claim to the insurance company
  • Meet regularly with agents and staff to keep up with industry standards, insurance products / coverages, and carrier changes
  • Work closely with insurance company underwriters, sales representatives, and account executives
  • Pre-qualify and analyze prospective business clients according to agency standards
  • Negotiate with insurance carriers to obtain competitive rates for clients

Personal Lines Insurance Account Manager Qualifications

  • Active Property and Casualty insurance license in Texas or willing to get licensed in 90 days
  • Strong customer service focus with a professional attitude and approach to business
  • Must have very strong follow up, written / verbal communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple and changing priorities in a fast-paced team environment
  • Insurance experience as an account manager or insurance agent is preferred but will provide training as needed
  • Experience in a sales or service organization preferred
  • Knowledge of Applied Epic system is recommended but will provide training as needed
  • Candidates should have basic computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Associates or bachelor's degree recommended or insurance industry experience
  • High School diploma required
  • Agency Location : San Antonio, Texas

    This is a remote position.

    Compensation : $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
