The PMO Training Specialist is responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining training modules specific to PMO processes, methodologies, and project execution practices. This role serves as the subject matter expert for PMO-related training initiatives, ensuring that project teams are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to execute projects effectively according to established PMO standards and methodologies.
The position bridges the gap between PMO process owners and project execution teams by translating project management frameworks into practical, actionable training content.
The PMO Training Specialist reports to the Project Manager, PMO Training & Certification.
Requirements

Training Development- Design and develop comprehensive training materials for PMO processes, tools, systems, and methodologies aligned with PMI standards.
o Create technical training documentation for project execution procedures.
o Develop training content to support new PMO process implementations and continuous improvement initiatives.
o Produce a variety of learning materials including instructor-led guides, e-learning modules, quick reference guides, job aids, and standard operating procedures.
o Maintain and update existing PMO training materials to reflect process changes and learnings.
Training Delivery & Support- Facilitate training sessions for PMO team members, project managers, and the project execution team.
o Lead onboarding training for new hires in PMO and project execution roles, ensuring rapid competency development.
o Provide refresher training and advanced sessions for experienced staff on updated processes and tools.
o Support change management initiatives by delivering targeted training during PMO process rollouts
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement- Partner with PMO leadership and process owners to identify training needs and gaps in project execution capabilities
o Collaborate with project managers to understand practical application challenges and incorporate feedback into training programs.
o Assess training effectiveness through evaluations, competency assessments, and performance metrics.
o Maintain knowledge of PMI standards, industry best practices, and emerging trends in project management training.
o Support the development of PMO competency frameworks and certification pathways.
Systems & Tools Training- Develop and deliver training on project management information systems (PMIS), scheduling software, document management systems, and other PMO tools
o Create system-specific user guides and tutorials tailored to PMO and project execution workflows.
o Serve as a training liaison for system implementations and upgrades affecting project delivery.
Perform such other duties as may be required from time to time by the company.
