Memphis Grizzlies is hiring : Senior Motion Designer in Memphis

The Opportunity The Senior Motion Designer is responsible for leveraging advanced motion design expertise to conceptualize and produce high-impact animated content across in-arena displays, broadcast, digital platforms, and social media for the Memphis Grizzlies, Memphis Hustle, FedExForum and Grind City Media.

With a strong emphasis on the in-arena experience, the Senior Motion Designer plays a pivotal role in enhancing fan engagement and brand storytelling—ultimately supporting marketing initiatives that drive audience growth, fan retention, and revenue generation. This is a results-oriented role that requires a strategic mindset, creative excellence, and a passion for delivering visually compelling content that aligns with business goals.

In This Role You Will Lead the creation and implementation of design systems and motion strategies across the Grizzlies and all affiliated properties

Provide mentorship and direction to the motion graphic designer(s) with intent to nuture creatgive growth in order to prodice high quality content

Partner with Director of Creative Services to understand and contribute to the boarder creative marketing strategy and how execution occurs across the organization

Lead cross functional communication with other departments to bring different animation strategies to life in a visually impactful way

Create briefs and communicate design concepts for various theme nights, and tent pole events each year

Collaborate with Director, Live Entertainment in order to fulfill in-game entertainment needs as well as messaging for corporate partners, community initiatives and team related promotions

Attend meetings as requested for both Broadcast and Live Entertainment teams and participate actively in the creative process of both departments

Manage multiple projects from conception to completion within assigned timelines

Animate logos, brand assets, typography and design elements

Partner with the Creative Video Lead / Sr. Producer in order to coordinate look of video elements as needed for broadcast, social and web features

Execute creative project direction, goals and requirements as set and assigned by the Creative Project Manager

Work evenings, weekend or holidays as needed

Other duties as assigned

The Experience You Will Bring Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent work / training

Five years or more experience creating animations and graphic designs

Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-changing environment

Must be a team player, highly motivated with a strong attention to detail

Thorough knowledge of design techniques and applications using Adobe AfterEffects, Photoshop and Illustrator

Experience with file-based production and post-production workflows

Understanding of video and animation codecs

Knowledge of production standards for social platforms

Nice to Have :

Experience using 3D software such as Cinima 4D or Blender

Experince using Ross Xpression to build animation templates that integrate live data

Experience in live event production

Experience in Non-Linear editing in Adobe Premier and Avid

Knowledge of design techniques and applications using Ross Xpression

Experience working for professional or college sports team
