Spray‑Transfer MIG Sheet Metal Welder–Fabricator
Weekend opportunity : Friday–Sunday, 6 : 00 a.m.–6 : 30 p.m.
From print to precision
Picture this : you’re handed a detailed mechanical engineered drawing. You decide exactly where each weld belongs, how long it should be, and what size it must hit—then you execute with accuracy. You finish the piece to the required cosmetic standard, grinding and buffing until it looks as good as it measures. That’s the challenge and satisfaction of this role.
Your core mission
- Build sheet metal weldments that meet dimensional specifications and appearance criteria
- Determine weld locations, sizes, and lengths within allowed tolerances
- Perform MIG welding on mild steel and stainless steel, including spray transfer applications
- Conduct fitting tasks : coping, alignment, positioning, and squaring
- Set up machines and adjust parameters in line with department manuals; fine tune voltage
- Grind to remove material; complete surface finishing to spec
- Read drawings and verify basic dimensions; inspect against complex engineered prints
- Examine weld beads for acceptable attributes and overall quality
- Identify metals (copper types, stainless grades) and apply appropriate techniques
- Leverage knowledge of flux-core and shielded wire processes
- Execute tack welding, stud welding, torch cutting, and arc metal gouging
