For our plant in Wooster / Ohio we are looking for :

Shift Supervisor (2nd Shift) Manufacturing (m / f / d)

Tekfor is a precision automotive supplier, which manufactures transmission and engine components. We have a 200 employee high volume forging & machining manufacturing plant in Wooster.

It is a 3-shift five-day operation. We are a modest size facility where everyone knows everyone and we are a profitable, successful business, which is growing to meet customer needs.

Responsible for second shift day-to-day operations for machining department that consists of approximately 40 nonunion employees operating 80+ machines.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
• CNC machining or automotive experience preferred
• Ability to supervise multiple employees, machines and processes effectively
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is preferred
• Operator training experience preferred
• Must possess excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Must be self-motivated and detail oriented
• Payroll systems (e.g., Paylocity), Time & Attendance (e.g., NOVAtime), & EXCEL skills preferred

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Direct daily shift production, coordinate with 1st and 3rd shift supervisors
• Promote a productive and safe working environment
• Monitor, maintain and improve key performance indicators on a daily basis
• Communicate effectively with operators and team leaders to ensure awareness and consistency
• Plan labor including scheduling, paid time off approval, manage attendance issues
• Conduct operator training; perform 90 day and annual performance evaluations; manage corrective discipline
• Support and sustain 5S and Lean manufacturing principles
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities
• Monitor completion of tasks including SPC, daily PM, tap and go (shift change), etc.
