Fraud & Abuse Analyst
The Trust & Safety team at Notion is looking for a full-time Fraud & Abuse Analyst to join our operational account security team. As a Fraud & Abuse Analyst, you'll work closely with our engineers & business teams and review account behavior for unexpected activity. You'll work with our support teams and directly with our users to resolve risk-related issues, while building out systems and processes to manage escalations from report to completion. You will problem-solve with our technical & business teams and resolve as much as you can while building processes that will scale as we do.
This role is open in both our New York and San Francisco offices, with a preference for NYC.
Help develop user-facing risk monitoring processes, perform account reviews, and manage account activity escalations
Work with Engineering teams to build better account review and moderation tools
Help investigate, draft, and implement fraud & abuse policy & operations with Legal and Security
Respond to high priority customer and internal escalations related to account access, user behavior, and compliance screenings
Manage to key performance metrics defined within Platform Security
Create and maintain internal knowledge libraries and contribute to the creation of user-facing content
Provide materials and training to our BPO partners and maintain outsourcing resources through regular audits & updates
Participate in a semi-quarterly on-call rotation to provide support during high-priority incidents
You are a clear communicator with strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills, and can work with both technical and non-technical audiences
You are familiar with risk assessment techniques, you are comfortable doing independent research to gain deeper knowledge, and you can triage risk and security questions effectively
You are able to balance user expectations while adhering to security policies and compliance boundaries, and are comfortable finding creative or out-of-the-box solutions when faced with ambiguity
You are able to collaborate effectively with peers and across teams that are located in multiple offices
You are familiar with SQL or other query-based languages and can write your own queries or manipulate existing queries to gather data
You have direct experience in a risk-related role and are well-versed in account review and risk management tools
You have experience managing risk-related complaints
You have deep knowledge of SQL or other query-based languages and are deeply data-driven
