Cardiac Perfusionist

Overview Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting multiple Cardiac Perfusionist to support operations at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System located at 2400 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119.

The work schedule is expected to be Monday-Friday with on call. If you accept employment with Ansible, you must also acknowledge that any assigned schedule is subject to change at the direction of either Ansible or its customers.

Responsibilities Utilize standard cardiopulmonary bypass equipment, standard membrane and non-membrane oxygenator systems, blood and red cell salvaging equipment, pulsatile preservation routines, intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP) and research or clinical experience in other forms of assisted circulation.  Perfusionist shall be capable of and have successful experience in operating both standard cardiopulmonary bypass and intra-aortic balloon pumps simultaneously, without the need for another cardiopulmonary bypass Perfusionist or assisted circulation technician.

Shall perform onsite perfusion services in the treatment of care of eligible veteran beneficiaries as referred and authorized by the VAMC.

Assemble supplies and equipment in preparation to accept patients on extra corporeal circulation in cases of premature cardiac arrest or failure.

Other services include preparation, maintenance, and operation of VA owned equipment to include the heart lung machine, intra-aortic balloon pump and centrifugal ventricular assist device.

Qualifications Education :

• Candidates must hold a degree in perfusion as described below in paragraphs (1) and (2) that is approved by the VA. (1) Bachelor’s or master’s degree in perfusion from a program in the United States or Canada accredited by the CAAHEP or RQualTM Canada. (2) Bachelor’s or master’s degree in addition to a post-baccalaureate certificate in perfusion from a program accredited by CAAHEP or the EQualTM Canada.
• Full and unrestricted license to the services covered by this contract issued in any State Territory, or Commonwealth of the Unites States or the District of Columbia.
• Shall be a graduate of an accredited Allied health Education Program School of Perfusion Technology and shall be certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.
