Admont Publishing Co. — a Berkeley based, fledgling indie press fresh from the shelves of The Admont Library — is building its team of five total Founders. We’re seeking creative, detail-obsessed, tea‑drinking souls to help us edit, design, promote, and ship our books and magazines into the world. Flexible hours, real publishing credits, and the chance to say “I was there at the very beginning.”
This is a Founding, Equity‑in‑Vision position . Compensation is currently in the form of company equity, full publication credit, and the immense professional reputation that comes with building an aesthetic literary brand from the ground up alongside the founders of The Admont Library.
We are actively seeking three key roles to complete our leadership circle.
Founding Editor
- Proofread and edit manuscripts and magazine issues
- Correspond with authors and contributors
- Assist with manuscript evaluation and selection
- Perform meticulous line‑by‑line checks for grammar, style, and consistency
- Ensure all materials follow the Admont Publishing style guide
- Coordinate with Editorial Assistant for final manuscript approval
- Receive a percentage of the company's net profits as a Founding Member, ensuring a direct ownership stake in the company's success.
Marketing and Social Media Manager (Founder)
Plan and host book launches, readings, and pop‑up events in BerkeleyDraft press releases for local media and literary publicationsManage outreach to bloggers, podcasters, and reviewersReceive a percentage of the company's net profits as a Founding Member, ensuring a direct ownership stake in the company's success.Graphic Designer (Founder)
Own and establish the complete visual brand identity, including logos, typography, and stylistic guidelines for all platforms.Lead Admont Classics illustrations and / or designsDesign our site and archive's digital architectureCreate captivating visuals for all marketing campaigns, social media, and physical retail pitches.Receive a percentage of the company's net profits as a Founding Member, ensuring a direct ownership stake in the company's success.Why Join Us?
