Job description

On-Demand Team Member (TM) Position

Starting hourly rate : $16.75 USD per hour. Working at Target means helping all families discover the joy of everyday life. This role is ideal for those looking for a personalized work schedule. As an On-Demand TM, you will have the opportunity to create your own schedule by picking up shifts as needed. Reliable and prompt attendance is necessary when you choose to pick up a shift. Active engagement by picking up and working shifts is required. Flexibility can be granted in certain circumstances, but you need to respond to our attempts at contact. If you do not respond to our attempts at contact, your employment may be terminated. Additionally, if you do not work at least one shift within 5 months, your employment with Target will be administratively terminated.

Advocates of guest experience who welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment, and store cleanliness. Empowered to make shopping quick and easy for guests at the checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up, and drive up while ensuring exceptional quality.

As a Guest Advocate, you will :

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard.
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks.
  • Engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs.
  • Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the total store to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience.
  • Thank guests and let them know we're happy they chose to shop at Target.
  • Scan and bag all guest items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices.
  • Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining guest service and accuracy.
  • Make the guest aware of current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events.
  • Know and speak to the benefits of Target Loyalty programs with every guest and assist with application or sign-up as needed.
  • Understand and show guests how to use Wallet and the other features and offerings within the Target App.
  • Attempt every return and follow register prompts, partnering with immediate leaders as needed to help solve for the guest while following Target's policies and procedures.
  • Partner with leaders as needed to de-escalate any situations and recover the guest shopping experience while following Target's policies and procedures.
  • Deliver easy and accurate service to all Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests.
  • Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area (including gathering abandoned items, baskets, and hangers).
  • Stock supplies during store open hours while being available for the guest.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible.
  • Support guest services such as order pick up (OPU), Drive-up (DU) Orders, DU Returns and maintain a compliance culture while executing those duties.
  • Support Cash Office processes as needed, including management of cash systems.
  • All other duties based on business needs.

  • Work both independently and with a team.
  • We expect you to :

  • Accurately handle cash register operations, cash transactions, and support cash office operations as needed.
  • Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving product up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance from others.
  • Be flexible when picking up shifts to help meet store needs.
  • Actively engage by picking up and working shifts.
  • Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties.
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.
