The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) provides highway safety and security through excellence in service, education, and enforcement. With a workforce of approximately 4,500 employees throughout the state, the Department is leading the way to A Safer Florida through the efficient and professional execution of its core mission : the issuance of driver licenses, vehicle tags and titles, and operation of the Florida Highway Patrol.
This position offers operational and clerical support to the South District Program Manager's office within the Bureau of Dealer Services. The role involves a variety of administrative tasks, such as handling the daily mail distribution, answering phone calls, and managing the daily filing of office documents. The incumbent will also be responsible for preparing complex correspondence related to high-level investigations and conducting quality reviews of completed rebuilt vehicle transactions. Furthermore, the position requires the maintenance of office supplies, the scheduling and coordination of meetings, and the upkeep of the South District's electronic filing system. Finally, the role includes creating and maintaining spreadsheets for internal tracking purposes.
Knowledge of general office procedures and practices; skill in providing customer service to internal and external customers; ability to organize and maintain filing system; knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and Outlook; ability to operate office equipment such as a personal computer, scanner, printer, multi-line telephone, multi-function business copiers, facsimile and calculator; ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and assignments; skill communicating effectively verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Candidates for this position must be 16 years of age or older. The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and / or oral interview. Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. HSMV OPS employees are paid bi-weekly. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
