Job Summary :

The Mechanical Engineer - Production Support is responsible for providing engineering assistance during the transition of new designs into production and resolving technical issues encountered in the manufacturing process. This role involves creating and refining designs that meet technical, cost, and schedule requirements, as well as conducting root-cause analyses and implementing corrective actions for design-related challenges. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across structures, ballistics, mechanical, and logistics disciplines to ensure efficient, high-quality production and design compliance with engineering and military standards.

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide production engineering support for transitioning new designs to manufacturing and resolving build process issues.
• Generate innovative design solutions to meet technical, cost, and schedule objectives.
• Design interface components for integration of new products.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and develop change documentation to address design issues.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve cross-functional issues.
• Prepare variance documentation and presentations supporting production non-compliance and vehicle sales.
• Perform tolerance stack-ups, trade studies, and design analyses during investigation support.
• Analyze design specifications, drawings, models, and test data to ensure compliance with standards and requirements.
• Create and modify CAD models using PTC Creo; design welded and bolted joints for producibility.
• Apply Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
• Support project planning by providing input on schedules, budgets, and performance goals.
• Prepare and deliver technical documentation, reports, and presentations.
• Troubleshoot test issues, document findings, and maintain organized records.
• Collaborate with suppliers to improve quality and reduce costs.
• Stay current with industry practices, technologies, and standards.
• Provide on-floor production support, including vehicle inspections and coordination across multiple work areas.
