Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Employment Attorney to advocate for California workers facing unlawful treatment in the workplace. This role focuses on representing plaintiffs in employment disputes under California and federal law, including claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage theft, and wrongful termination. The ideal candidate is a skilled litigator with a deep understanding of California’s progressive labor protections and a passion for employee rights.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent employees in individual and class action lawsuits involving FEHA, CFRA, Labor Code violations, and other employment-related claims.
- Draft complaints, motions, discovery, and appellate briefs for cases in California Superior Courts, federal courts, and administrative agencies
- Conduct thorough client intake and case evaluation, providing strategic legal advice with empathy and clarity.
- Investigate claims through document review, depositions, and collaboration with experts.
- Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation, arbitration, and administrative hearings.
- Stay current on California employment law developments, including PAGA, wage orders, and evolving case law.
- Manage a dynamic caseload with autonomy while collaborating with colleagues on complex litigation matters.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Active California Bar membership.5 - 7 years of experience in employment litigation, preferably representing plaintiffs.Strong written and oral advocacy skills, including courtroom and deposition experience.Excellent analytical and investigative abilities.Bilingual skills (especially Spanish) are highly valued.Compensation & Benefits
