Road Maintenance Worker

As a Road Maintenance Worker, you will perform traffic control duties, operate various equipment, and maintain vehicles. Working under the direction of a Foreman, you will assist with various maintenance tasks while ensuring a safe work environment. The work you do will help to ensure the County's roadways are kept safe and clear.
Essential duties include :
- Performing traffic control duties including flagging traffic and setting up traffic control devices.
- Operating various small equipment such as mowers, rollers, weed eaters, tampers, chain saws, air compressors / jack hammers. Assisting in maintaining equipment and tools.
- Performing maintenance duties such as digging, cleaning ditches and drains, shoveling and spreading blacktop / stone and chips, clearing debris, removing trash, sweeping streets, cutting weeds and brush, and mowing.
- Maintaining vehicles, including completing vehicle inspection reports required by Department of Transportation.
- Assisting drivers with hooking up equipment and backing of trucks.
- Performing snow removal as needed.
- Following all established safety rules and regulations. Maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
- Completing assigned work in a timely fashion. Accepting feedback.
- Demonstrating an ability to collaborate and a willingness to learn. Participating in a supportive work environment.
