Job Summary : The Medical Assistant Lead functions under the direction of the Physician, and / or Office Manager and serves as a clinical resource for Medical Assistants and a role model for team members. Demonstrates competency and skills to serve patients of all ages including neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations and is proficient in instructing and / or educating other team members of these competencies and skills. The MA Lead uses experience in this role to maintain and model clinical care by recognizing patient's needs, provide care for the patient under the physician's direction to include preparing patients for exams, assisting during treatments, education, and coordinating follow up care. They practice in a clinical environment that is administered by Office Managers and other leaders and is supported through the WellStar Clinical Champion Forum. Under the direction and supervision of the Clinical Services Department, the MA Lead will promote clinical competency as well as maintain clinical quality control through leading and supporting survey readiness efforts as it relates to back office clinical operations.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions :

Practice Operations

• Provide direct patient care as directed by the provider.
• Contributes to financial viability through service quality and clinical excellence.
• Acts as liaison with Clinical Informatics as it relates to EHR training needs.
• Assists with managing office operations when needed.

Required Minimum Experience : Experience as an MA and specific experience in particular specialty Required
