Strategic Services Division Executive
The Strategic Services Division Executive will be responsible for assisting with the daily functions of the Sheriff's Office, including leading the development and deployment of advanced, specialized capabilities to support diverse law enforcement missions. The role focuses on innovation, mission-critical support, and enhancing public safety through modern, effective practices. The division delivers tailored solutions that improve law enforcement operations and outcomes. Reports to the Chief of Staff.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
Supervises one or more interns / contractors in the Sheriff's Office. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the county's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

- Assists the Chief of Staff in developing and implementing policies and procedures in alignment with strategic planning and best practices.
- Supervises, directs and assesses the assignments of interns and contracted work groups associated with the position.
- Monitors and assesses potential threats to personnel, facilities and the community.
- Coordinates the logistics of resources and department needs and develops proposals for additional equipment and staff.
- Conduct threat analyses and intelligence assessment to inform operational decisions.
- Participates in long-range strategic planning for the Sheriff's Office.
- Develop and implement planning to prevent or mitigate emerging security risks.
- Ensures the proper preparation of division reports prior to submission to the Command Staff.
- May represent the Tarrant County Sheriff Office at outside speaking engagements as designated by the Sheriff, Senior Chief or Chief of Staff.
- Provides strategic leadership to guide the development and implementation of advanced operational capabilities that support the mission and priorities of the Sheriff's Office.
- Lead the planning and delivery of specialized, mission-critical solutions to address complex, multi-domain law enforcement challenges and increase readiness.
- Promote collaboration across departments, agencies, and partners to implement innovative technologies and strategies.
- Ensure the division's activities align with broader organizational goals, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
- Monitors performance metrics and outcomes to guide executive decisions that enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and resource allocation within the organization to improve future preparedness.
- Serve as an advisor to senior leadership on emerging threats, technologies, operational innovations, and initiatives aligned to strategic priorities and objectives.
- Represent the division in high-level meetings, briefings, and external engagements to promote mission objectives and partnerships.
- Cultivate a culture of innovation, agility, and operational excellence within the division.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities :
Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Must be able to stay organized and know how to prioritize the workload.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Competency with computers and Microsoft Office 365 Suite.Advanced analytical skills.Thorough knowledge of modern technologies and strategies related to threat assessment risk management principles, law enforcement operations and procedures and the principles and practices of law enforcement administration.Thorough knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws related to law enforcement.Strong intelligence gathering and analysis skills with the ability to interpret data, trends and reports to anticipate security concerns.Knowledge of the principles of management and organization.Knowledge of the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement laws, standards and procedures.Ability to analyze, evaluate, organize and formulate programs related to the Division.Demonstrated ability to lead in high-pressure environments, with strong skills in communication, decision-making, and strategic planning.Experienced in special operations, tactical intelligence, and integrating advanced technologies in law enforcement or defense settings.Proven expertise in managing classified information, collaborating across agencies, and briefing senior leadership.Skilled in innovation, change management, and fostering operational excellence within multidisciplinary teams.Minimum Requirements :
Bachelor's degree or equivalent requiredAt least 10 years of proven leadership experience, preferably in military special operations, or intelligence roles.Must obtain a valid Texas driver license within thirty (30) days of hireMust obtain a basic TCOLE Peace Officer's license within one (1) year of employment.Preferred Requirements :
Master's degree preferred but not required.Physical Demands and Work Environment & Other Requirements :
While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent may be required to bend, hear, keyboard, sit, stand, talk, pull, push, reach, reach overhead, negotiate slippery surfaces, work alone and with others, and work overtime. Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.
