Director of Cardiac Care / Medical-Surgical Services (Days)
Location : Panama City, FL 32401
Shift : Days (7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 PM)
Schedule : 12-hour shifts

Position Summary
The Director of Cardiac Care / Med Surg provides strategic and operational leadership for the department, ensuring excellence in patient care, financial performance, and staff development. This role supports the hospital’s mission by fostering collaboration across departments, promoting evidence-based practice, and leading initiatives that enhance quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership for planning, management, implementation, and coordination of unit operations.
Enhance departmental performance through continuous improvement initiatives and effective resource utilization.
Develop and maintain an operational system that supports seamless patient flow across the continuum of care.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies and services to improve patient outcomes.
Lead and support staff education programs to promote clinical excellence.
Coordinate multidisciplinary patient care conferences for high-risk or medically complex patients .
Direct short- and long-range strategic planning aligned with hospital objectives.
Recruit, mentor, and evaluate staff, ensuring adherence to EEO and Affirmative Action standards.
Oversee departmental budgeting and resource allocation to maintain operational efficiency.
Lead or support research projects under the Institutional Review Board (IRB) as appropriate.
Qualifications
Required :
Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher
Experience : Minimum 5 years of recent acute care RN leadership experience (within the past year)
Licensure / Certification :
Active Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS Instructor certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire)
Unit size : 24 beds
Average daily census : 18 patients
Direct reports : 27 FTEs
