In this role, you will work closely with our skilled physicians, performing essential functions that contribute to our patients' eye health.

Position Summary

The Ophthalmic Assistant plays a vital role in our clinic by documenting patient medical records and assisting with various procedures. Your expertise will help ensure our patients receive the best care possible!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As an Ophthalmic Assistant, your responsibilities will include :

• Obtaining accurate patient history
• Performing lensometry and diagnostic testing of the eye
• Understanding and conducting tests such as HVF, HRT, IOLmaster, and basic fundus photography
• Measuring visual acuities with a solid grasp of basic optics
• Conducting functional ocular measurements, including color vision and Amsler grid tests
• Administering topical ophthalmic medications
• Performing tonometry using tonopen or applanation
• Maintaining and sterilizing surgical instruments
• Assisting physicians with procedures and providing clear post-operative instructions to patients
• Understanding basic ocular pharmacology and medication uses
