We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Andover, Massachusetts. This role involves handling high-volume transaction reconciliations, analyzing financial discrepancies, and supporting various accounting functions. Responsibilities :

• Reconcile daily cash and credit card transactions, ensuring accuracy within large volumes of data.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies using advanced analytical skills.
• Utilize accounting software, including Great Plains and Dynamics, to manage financial data and processes.
• Apply advanced Excel functions such as pivot tables and data analysis tools to streamline workflows.
• Collaborate closely with the Accounting Manager and contract accountants to execute tasks and provide support.
• Identify areas for process improvement within manual accounting workflows and propose updates.
• Assist with month-end close procedures, including journal entries and general ledger maintenance.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure compliance with established accounting standards.
• Provide general support to the accounting department as needed, addressing ad hoc tasks and challenges.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
• Proven ability to work with large datasets and perform accurate reconciliations.
• Proficiency in accounting software, preferably Great Plains and Dynamics.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analysis capabilities.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Experience with month-end close processes and general ledger management.
• Ability to handle high-volume transactions with efficiency and accuracy.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability to dynamic tasks.
