Responsibilities

  • The Emergency Services Technician plays a vital role as part of the healthcare team, assisting the Licensed Independent Practitioner (L.I.P.), Registered Nurse (R.N.), and Unit Secretary. This position is essential to the team-based approach to patient care and supports the efficient and effective flow of patients through the Emergency Department.

Patient Care

  • Provides direct patient care to newborns, children, adults, and geriatric patients under the supervision and delegation of a Registered Nurse.
  • Communication

  • Demonstrates effective and professional communication with patients, visitors, EMS personnel, and hospital staff.
  • Environmental Duties

  • Maintains responsibility and accountability for the cleanliness, maintenance, and safety of unit equipment and supplies.
  • Education & Competency

  • Maintains an active, working knowledge of the Credentialing Competencies required for Emergency Services Technicians.
  • Professional Behavior

  • Consistently demonstrates professionalism in both appearance and conduct.
  • Education and Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience

  • Previous patient care experience in an Emergency environment and / or with children strongly preferred
  • Skills

  • Basic medical terminology.
  • Computer familiarity.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
  • Licensure

  • Current American Heart Association BLS for Provider certification required.
  • CNA, MA or EMT preferred.
  • Pay Range USD $21.70 - USD $29.39 / Hr.
